What Duesy handles for your committee
A fair draw for the order
Draw lots in the app with everyone watching, set the order by hand, or let members ask for the month they need. Every draw is recorded, so nobody can say it was rigged.
Who has paid this month
Each member taps “I paid”; the admin confirms it. Everyone sees the same list of paid, waiting and due, so there is no chasing screenshots in the group chat.
Reminders on the due day
On the due day Duesy reminds anyone who hasn’t paid. The admin or this month’s recipient can nudge a late member once a day, and a WhatsApp message is ready to send to people who aren’t on Duesy yet.
Every payout written down
When everyone in the round has paid, the admin records the pot as handed over. Over the months that becomes a clean history of who paid whom.
How it works
Create the committee
Make a committee group and set the monthly amount, the currency, the start month and the due day.
Invite the members
Share a link or QR code. People can join until the order is fixed.
Fix the order
Draw lots, arrange it yourself, or go by requests. The order locks when you save it or when the first month starts.
Collect and pay out each month
Members mark their payment, the admin confirms, and the recipient gets told it’s their turn. Record the payout once the round is complete.
The rules it keeps
- Everyone pays every month, including the month they receive the pot, and there are as many months as members.
- The order is fixed once the committee starts. After that, two members can swap turns only if both accept.
- Only the admin confirms payments and payouts, so the record can’t be edited by whoever is in a hurry.
- A committee isn’t an expense. It doesn’t change anyone’s balances in your other groups; it’s its own record.
Questions
What is a committee or BC?
A committee (also called a BC, or a ROSCA) is a group savings circle. Everyone pays the same amount each month, and each month one member takes the whole pot, in an agreed order, until everyone has had a turn.
How is the order decided in Duesy?
The admin can draw lots in the app, set the order by hand, or let members request the month they want. Each draw is recorded, and the order locks when it’s saved or when the first month begins.
Can two members swap turns?
Yes, after the order is fixed, a member can ask another to swap months. The swap only happens if the other member accepts.
What happens when someone pays late?
Duesy reminds unpaid members on the due day and marks late payments, so the record shows who paid on time. The admin or that month’s recipient can also send a reminder once a day.
Does Duesy hold the committee money?
No. Duesy never holds or moves money. Members pay each other directly, by cash, bank transfer, JazzCash, Easypaisa or whatever you already use, and Duesy keeps the record.
Is the committee feature free?
Yes. Committees are part of the free app on Android and the web.
