Split rent and bills in Dubai, in dirhams

Shared flats and villas mean rent cheques, DEWA, internet, cooking gas and a lot of groceries landing on different people. Duesy keeps one running tab in AED for the flat, and your own money, including what you send home, on the same app.

What a Dubai flat group handles

Rent and DEWA as monthly bills

Add rent, DEWA, internet and chiller charges as monthly bills in the flat’s group with a due day. Duesy reminds you before each one is due.

Fair shares, not just equal

Bigger room, attached bath, a partition? Split by shares or exact amounts, and set a default split once so each new bill pre-fills it.

Whoever paid, it balances

One person paid the cheque, another the DEWA, a third the groceries. Every flatmate’s balance updates live, and settling up shows the fewest payments.

How to set it up

1

Make a flat group

Create a group for the flat or villa, with AED as its currency.

2

Add the regular bills

Rent, DEWA, internet and anything else that repeats, each with its due day and default split.

3

Log the extras as they happen

Groceries, cleaning, a new AC filter. Whoever pays adds it.

4

Settle up monthly

Duesy shows who owes whom; pay each other however you like and mark it settled.

Money you send home

Duesy is also a personal budget, so your own money lives next to the flat’s. Log your salary in AED and what you send home in PKR or INR; each amount stays in the currency you entered. Duesy Pro adds live conversion, so a mixed-currency month can be shown as one total in your home currency.

Duesy never moves money and never asks for a bank login. It keeps the record; you send money the way you already do.

Questions

How do flatmates in Dubai usually split DEWA?

Most flats split DEWA equally. If one room runs its AC far more, some flats split it by shares instead. In Duesy you can set either as the default split for the bill.

Can I use Duesy with flatmates from different countries?

Yes. Each expense keeps the currency it was paid in, and the flat group can use AED while your personal entries use PKR, INR or any other currency.

Do my flatmates need the app?

You can add them by name and phone before they install it. When they join through your link, they see the balances you’ve already recorded.

Does Duesy send money home for me?

No. Duesy never moves money. It tracks what you send so your budget stays accurate.

Is Duesy free?

Yes. Splitting, groups, bills and settling up are free, with free entries every day and a short ad to unlock more. Pro, at AED 18.99 a month in the UAE, removes ads and limits and adds live currency conversion and receipt scanning.
