Work out the tip, the total, and exactly what each person pays when you split the bill. Free, no sign-up.
Track who owes who → open Duesy
This calculator handles the tip and an even split. But when one person actually pays the whole bill — which is usually what happens — someone still has to remember who owes what. That is what Duesy is for: log the bill once, mark who paid, and it tracks who owes who across a whole night out, trip or shared house, in any currency. It is free, and friends can join by link or QR.
Not an even split? Use the bill split calculator for a bill with tip and tax, the expense split calculator for many expenses across a group, or the rent split calculator for roommates. Comparing apps? See Duesy as a Splitwise alternative.
Multiply the bill by the tip percentage. A 15% tip on a $60 bill is 60 × 0.15 = $9, for a $69 total. This calculator does it instantly and splits the total between any number of people.
In the US, 15–20% is standard for table service and 18% is a common default. In much of Europe and Asia a service charge is often already included, so a small round-up is enough. Set whatever percentage fits.
Etiquette says tip on the pre-tax amount, though many people tip on the total for simplicity. Enter the pre-tax bill to tip the polite way — on a normal bill the difference is small.
