Rent $2,000.00 + bills $300.00, split evenly
Track it every month → open Duesy
A calculator settles this month's number. But rent comes back every month, someone always covers a bill, and utilities move around — so the real job is remembering who paid what and who owes who. That is what Duesy is for: set a household group once, log rent and bills as they come, and it keeps a running balance and lets everyone settle up in a tap. It is free, with no daily limit, and roommates join by link or QR.

When rooms differ or roommates earn very different amounts, an even split can feel unfair. Proportional splitting fixes that: give each person a weight — their income, or their room's size — and everyone pays that weight divided by the total, times the rent. Switch to By income / room size above and enter a weight per person; the calculator keeps the shares adding up to the full rent.
The simplest way is evenly — add the rent and any shared bills, then divide by the number of roommates. If rooms differ in size or roommates earn different amounts, many split proportionally instead. This calculator does both.
Give each roommate a weight — their monthly income, or their room's size — and each person pays that weight divided by the total, times the rent. Switch off "Split evenly" and enter a weight per person.
Often yes — add utilities to the total and split them the same way. Some households split rent by room size but utilities evenly; run the calculator twice if you want different rules.
